What do you do currently?
I work as an associate at Multinational company.

When did you start to play chess?
18 years old. Before that, I only knew how chess pieces move and was not familiar with the chess rules.

How did you get to know about the chess game?
From my sister and chess club in secondary school.

Where did you get chess training?
Chess books and online chess.

Did you take any chess coaching?
Yes, I took lessons from an IM (International Master) before.

Why do you continue to play chess?
Chess can improve cognitive skills and I enjoy playing the best move in different positions.

Is chess more of a passion or has it become a winning symbol to you?
I’m so obsessed with chess. Chess is a part of my life.

Who encourages you to play chess?
Self-motivated.

How many tournaments have you taken part in?
Quite many. I didn’t count it.

Where did you go to attend chess tournaments?
Klang Valley and Melaka chess open.

Did you attend tournaments with your parents?
I went alone and solved chess puzzles on the train and LRT.

What was your biggest win so far?
TARC chess champion of 2005 & 2006.

Did you go to International tournaments as well?
Not overseas. I joined the international chess open in Malaysia.

What have you gained from the chess game?
I learn to analyze and think deeply before making important decisions.

What have you gained from joining chess tournaments?
Apart from winning, chess tournaments are a great opportunity to meet other chess players, play interesting games and explore a place I have never been before.
